Jurmala

Jūrmala is the largest resort city on the shores of the Baltic Sea, ideally located just 20 kilometers from the capital of Latvia, Riga, and a four-hour drive from Tallinn and Vilnius. Its scenic 24-kilometer-long beach and charming wooden architecture contribute to the city’s unique ambiance. Founded around 200 years ago, Jūrmala emerged during Europe’s growing interest in the therapeutic benefits of the sea, and it quickly became known for its first resorts. Today, Jūrmala blends wild nature, modern spa hotels, cultural heritage, and a contemporary setting for both entrepreneurship and leisure.

Discover Jomas iela (Jomas Street): The heart of Jūrmala, Jomas iela is a vibrant pedestrian street bustling with vacationers and visitors throughout the year, regardless of weather. This area is thought to be where Jūrmala originally began. In its early days, large expanses of sand were shaped by the wind into dunes and valleys, and one of these natural valleys, known as a "joma" in Latvian, became the site for what is now Jomas Street. Today, it serves as the center of social, cultural, and nightlife activities.

Natural Beauty: Jūrmala is one of the few cities in Europe where visitors can enjoy both fresh seaside air and the aromatic benefits of pine forests. Approximately one-third of the city is covered by forest, and many beaches are concealed behind belts of pine-covered dunes.

Cultural Venues: For over a century, Jūrmala’s historical stages, beaches, and gardens have hosted open-air concerts. The Dzintari Concert Hall and Dzintari Forest Park continue to offer musical performances in a natural setting, enhanced by the distant calls of seagulls and the sun’s natural lighting.

If you’re looking for a special place to hold a meeting or corporate event, Jūrmala offers a unique and inspiring environment.
